Celebrating Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti at Creative Minds PreSchool, Malur.

Hello little friends! 👋

Do you know that every year, on 2nd October, India celebrates the birthday of a very special person called Mahatma Gandhi? This day is called Gandhi Jayanti. Mahatma Gandhi is called the Father of our Nation because he helped India become free in a very peaceful way. 🇮🇳

Who Was Mahatma Gandhi?

Mahatma Gandhi was a kind and brave man. He wore simple clothes, walked a lot, and always helped people. He believed in peace, truth, and love for everyone. He taught people that even if you are small, you can make a big difference by being good and helping others. 💖

Gandhi loved children too! He wanted every child to learn, play, and grow happily. That’s why we celebrate his birthday in schools, homes, and communities all over India.

How Do We Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti?

On 2nd October, schools and communities organize special programs for children. Here are some fun ways to celebrate:

  1. Flag Hoisting: People raise the Indian flag and sing the national anthem. You can wave a small paper flag at home! 🇮🇳
  2. Story Time: Teachers or parents tell stories about Mahatma Gandhi. You will hear about his peaceful marches, spinning wheel, and how he helped India. 📖
  3. Craft Activities: Children make paper doves for peace, or color pictures of Gandhi wearing his famous glasses and dhoti. 🖍️
  4. Songs & Poems: Little children sing songs or recite rhymes about truth, peace, and kindness. 🎶
  5. Clean and Care: Gandhi believed in cleanliness. Children can help by picking up small trash in their classroom or home to make their surroundings neat. 🧹

Why Do We Remember Him?

Mahatma Gandhi taught everyone that we should never fight with words or hands, and that we can solve problems with love and understanding. He showed that even small children can be brave by always being kind, honest, and helpful. 🌟

On this day, people also pay tribute to Gandhi by visiting his statue, spinning the charkha (spinning wheel), or singing songs of peace. It is a day to remember his teachings and promise to follow them in our own little ways.

A Little Story

Let’s imagine a little girl named Anika. On 2nd October, Anika wakes up early and makes a small paper dove for peace. She goes to school and listens to the story of Mahatma Gandhi. Anika learns how Gandhi walked long distances with people to make India free, without hurting anyone. She feels proud and decides to always tell the truth, be kind, and help her friends. After school, she helps her mom sweep the home and arranges her toys neatly. Anika is practicing Gandhi’s lessons in her own little way! 🌸

Fun Questions!

Can you answer these?

  1. Whose birthday do we celebrate on 2nd October?
  2. What did Gandhi believe in? (Peace, truth, love)
  3. Can you make a paper dove or color a picture of Gandhi?
  4. How can you be kind and helpful like Gandhi?

Let’s Celebrate Together

Even though you are small, you can celebrate Gandhi Jayanti in your own way. Make crafts, sing songs, listen to stories, and promise to always be kind, honest, and helpful. Gandhi showed us that even little children can make the world a better place! 💖

So, this 2nd October 2025, let’s all celebrate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti with smiles, love, and happy hearts. Happy Gandhi Jayanti! 🌼
